Acts of Compassion
After a long day at work in the printing business I left my office and headed to my home south of town. I was ready to get home and kick back and relax for a moment. As I traveled south on Oak Street past the downtown area and the railroad tracks I entered the area where you probably would not want to run out of gas. I think you know what I mean! This area has a little of it all. It has working people, thugs, ladies of the evening, children, homeless, illegal immigrants, drunks, and drug dealers. So I am riding along and low and behold, I see Ricardo Vielmas, by himself, talking and I suppose, ministering to a group of these people! My first thoughts were, wow he looks like Jesus! I was humbled and ashamed of myself while riding home. What a example to all of us. Here was Ricardo in one of the worst parts of town preaching and ministering. I have always been impressed with Ricardo Vielmas and a BIZ With A Good Name but this day his act of compassion and care just blew me away!

Faith In The Marketplace
Before I started participating in CBMC events, I was a Christian wondering how I could apply my faith to my work. Now, I have been connected to a world wide and local network of Christians working to make a difference for Christ in the marketplace. It feels great to know that I am surrounded by friends who are helping me walk out my faith in the marketplace.

Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast
This year’s “Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast” was a humbling experience for me. To see the number of Christians who came out to show this community that they believed in the power of prayer was an experience I will not forget. I look forward to next year and seeing the crowd double in size.

Being here in Valdosta without kinfolk, it’s been awesome to know that there is a faithful Christian family we can email or text or talk to sometime, request holy prayer and pray with too.
Thanks for being in divine service where it is most needed indeed!
